Órgano Ibérico

Iberian Organ
The voice of a village
The organ at the parish church of Santa Marina del Rey, in the province of León, is a jewel of the town’s musical and historical heritage. It is an Iberian organ built by Francisco Majo in 1773, considered one of the church’s most valuable features; it has been restored and is currently in full use.
The church of Santa Marina, where the organ is located, is a Gothic-Mudejar style building constructed between the late 15th and early 16th centuries. It features three naves, a wooden coffered ceiling and a tower housing one of the oldest clocks in Spain.
The organ stands out not only for its historical and artistic value, but also for its role in the cultural life of Santa Marina del Rey, serving as the voice of the village. It is a symbol of local pride and an attraction for visitors and lovers of Early Music.
